This ZHIYUN FIVERAY M60 Ultra video light is rated at 60 Watts and in addition to white light (colour temperature from 2,500K to 10,000K), it also has RBG which adds a lot of extra roles. The unit comes with two light modifiers - a metal honeycomb grid and a soft plastic diffuser dome - that are attached magnetically and you can have one or the other or both if you need to.The unit body measures 38mm thick by 80mm tall (the power button protrudes a further millimetre) by 150mm wide. The honeycomb grid adds a further 8mm to the thickness and the diffuser dome adds 18mm. Once the unit is turned on, using the orange switch on the top, it is controlled, largely, by two knobs that also act as push buttons. Using them allows you to switch between modes and control parameters such as brightness, colour temperature, saturation, hue and so on - you can see the current status viewing the small display which measures 21mm by 11mm. On the underside, there is a USB C socket for charging - you can also run the light whilst charging - and there is a quarter inch British Standard Whitworth socket for mounting it on virtually anything photographic.The LEDs are the blue-white and orange lights with RGB lights in between. Having three types of LED means that you end up with diagonal stripes of colours. The colour temperature range of 2,500K to 10,000K exceeds the range of the two 'white' lights so if you need a colour temperature outside that range, the unit adds in some redder orange or some blue-green as you can see in the photograph. When it needs to make a colour that is not completely saturated, it adds in a little of the 'white' lights rather than then missing colour in the RGB LED.Once the unit starts to warm up, the fan starts and you can see in the thermographic image that the hottest it got in this test was 41C. If you have the modifiers on the front during this, they do get a little warm as well.The light modifiers fit exactly on the front, either singularly or both together and held in place with magnets. All light modifiers will reduce the total amount of light coming off the unit and you can see how the light level is attenuated by the modifiers in the two graphs - they are the same data but one has the more usual polar co-ordinates. You can see that the bare light gives the most output straight in front of it. The hexagonal grid removes 0.4 stops and at 45 degrees the light is reduced from the unmodified level by over four stops. The plastic dome spreads light towards the sides but forward, the light level is reduced by 2.8 stops. Both together gives the same shape as dome on its own but it is reduced from the dome alone by two stops and from the unmodified light by 4.7 stops.There is an app for your smartphone and this gives you better control over the way that the light works. There are a number of gel presets and other additional functionality.This is a well made, very functional, small light that is well suited to vlogging or lighting small scenes for still photography. The hexagonal grid works very well but the diffusion dome takes nearly three stops, wasting a lot of the power output from the lamp. The app allows you to control this and other lamps as a group, which gives you control over a whole scene.

I am incredibly happy with this portable video light setup. My absolute favorite part is the physical footprint because I love that its still small enough to fit comfortably in my day bag as size is important to my travel routine. It does a fantastic job when you are setting up inside shots and just need a quick splash of light to highlight your subject without hauling around a massive studio stand.The magnetic accessory design is easily the biggest win here for speed. Being able to just snap the grids or modifiers onto the front frame instantly saves you a ton of time when you are moving between different setups on a fast shoot. The physical dial knobs on the back also click nicely and let you adjust your color settings or brightness levels very casually without digging through a complex digital menu.I will note that the diffuser does drop the light output a little more than I like when you are trying to maximize your brightness. You might have to pull the fixture a few inches closer to your subject to compensate for that dimmed power when the rubber shield is attached. However, the light itself is so punchy on its own that it still works out fine for close up shots.Overall, it is a well constructed and reliable little fill light for any on the go camera kit. It clears up bag space and gives you a super quick, no nonsense way to manage your lighting on the fly.

This light is great. I mainly do portraits and various other forms of photography and this light gives me more flexibility in bad lighting conditions. The 60w light is also great for video work on the go. This is the perfect sidekick for action cams, gimbal style cams and other run and gun hybrid cams. The overall output makes it easy to achieve 180 degree rules for lower shutter speeds such as 24, 48, and 60 fps without having to crank ISO.I love it for photography purposes because it is an RGB capable light that allows me to get creative with my lighting and create scenes that are not naturally occurring. The grid and diffusion panel gives you more ways to manipulate and control the quality and characteristics a of the light. The diffusion panel helps to give you a softer looking light, especially when used in closer distances. The grid helps to direct light and eliminate the light from spilling outside of the intended area.It has a built in battery that provides very good battery life without making the unit extra bulky or heavy. It can be recharged with the included usb cable and when charged with fast chargers, it doesn’t take long to get up and running again. It has a built in fan that keeps the light cool when running and it doesn’t take long not make much noise.The overall size of this makes it pocketable for majority of the pants or shorts that i wear. This allows me to not need a large bag that gets uncomfortable and fatiguing.This is a powerful and versatile little pocket sized light that is easier to pack around than my 100w versions from other brands.

I am a big fan of Zhiyun lights. I already have their larger 200W light, so I was curious to test this smaller and lighter FIVERAY 60W RGB version. My first impression is that this is an extraordinarily well built light. Like my other Zhiyun light, it feels like it is made from premium materials, and everything from the construction to the paint finish feels high quality.The brightness is very good for such a compact light. It is small, but it is definitely bright. The light spread changes depending on which attachment is used. I found myself liking the honeycomb in some situations, but preferring to remove it in others. I usually use the diffuser attachment, because even though this is a panel-style light, the light can still feel a bit harsh without diffusion. That was probably my main surprise, since I expected it to be softer without the diffuser.The RGB feature is also very useful for my product photography setup. I can use it to add color to the background or as a smaller satellite light from the side. I already have a second one on the way, because the light can be grouped and controlled through the ZY Vega app. My plan is to use the larger 200W light as the main front light, then use two of these 60W lights for background color and side lighting. Overall, I am very pleased with this light. The app could use a little polishing, and I think the price could be a bit lower, but the build quality and usefulness are excellent. Yes, I recommend it.

I first saw this light at a group photography shoot where a couple of the photographers were using these lights as their key light. As the space was pretty dark otherwise I was somewhat surprised that they were only using 60 watt light with the models but they pointed out it they could just hand-hold the light for relatively close in portraits which allowed them to get a lot of different looks pretty quickly instead of needing to constantly adjust a light stand.I picked up an Amaran Ace 25 based on good reviews on YouTube and found that it worked really well for my still life work but it was a little under-powered for portraits. The Zhiyun seemed like a good step up.It is a considerable step up in power compared with the still very impressive Amaran at 60 watts vs 25 with both having a burst mode that puts out a little extra output. The Amaran is truly pocketable (unless you're a woman because your pockets hold approximately nothing) but the Zhiyun is close. It can certainly fit in a coat pocket very easily.I still find the 60 watts of output a little dim for use as a key light but it makes an excellent fill or hair light. That's not the fault of the light, it's surprisingly bright given how small it is. My camera is several versions out of date so someone with a newer camera might find that they can just crank up the ISO as it's likely to handle noise better than mine.One downside is that the small size of the light means it doesn't mount with any existing lighting modifiers you might have. It comes with two magnetic accessories, a grid and a diffuser, that allow you to focus the light or give a nice wide patch of light. The diffuser can get knocked off easily but the grid has edges which provide a tighter grip. The Amaran has the same problem, the magnetic accessories are handy but it's easy to knock them out of place if you're hand-holding the light. So I'd suggest using it on a stand.Overall a very good buy if you're looking for an ultra-light kit. The advances in LED's over the past couple of years has been astounding. THey're really that good and worth a look if you're looking to get into video work or just want a simpler way of bringing lights to location.

Brutal guter Scheinwerfer. Extrem hell - und kein Vergleich zu meinen alten kleinen Leuchten. Leise, super steuerbar über die Handy App (Zhiyun Vega nutzen, hab ich anfangs nicht finden können) - einzeln oder auch in der Gruppe. Die Steuerung am Gerät hätte etwas intuitiver sein können, aber man bekommt das nach ein paar Übungen in den Griff - auch ohne Anleitung.Die Farbtemperatur kann von ca. 2700-10.000 (!) K eingestellt werden, die Farben wirken wirklich satt und nicht verwaschen wie bei anderen oder älteren Leuchten. Ich bin begeistert.Ich HOFFE nur, daß der Akku auch austauschbar ist bzw. irgendwie gewechselt werden KANN...Das mitgelieferte Wabengitter hat NULL Effekt. Der "Bouncer" macht das Licht etwas weicher, aber nimmt VIEL Helligkeit. Habe das ausgiebig getestet. Erwartet einfach keinen professionellen Studioscheinwerfer für das Geld.Alles in Allem eine Leuchte, die einem ein zufriedenes großes Grinsen ins Gesicht zaubert. Ich habe schon 2 gekauft - und wenn Amazon das am Prime Day reduziert, werden es wohl insgesamt 3 oder 4 werden :)Wichtig:Nicht jedes USB-C Netzteil funktioniert damit. Das hat nicht mit Leistung zu tun, sondern mit dem "Lade-Standard". Habe mich noch nicht genau befasst damit, aber mein nagelneues Anker Nano mit 100W will dieses Gerät nicht laden. Ein altes Billig Netzteil macht es ohne Probleme. Da kein Netzteil mitgeliefert wird (es gibt ja eh an jeder Ecke welche), sollte man nicht enttäuscht sein, wenn das am Gerät Zuhause nicht funktioniert. USB-C ist eben auch immer mal wieder für eine Überraschung "gut"......

There are so many ways to dial in the exact light you want.It comes with a useful magnetic honeycomb grid to focus the beam, as well as a magnetic diffuser, though the diffuser dims the light a bit too much for my personal taste so I don't really use it. I also appreciate that the power switch is slightly recessed, which prevents it from accidentally turning on during transit.There is a standard female screw thread on the bottom, making it easy to mount onto any standard tripod, and charging the unit is straightforward using a USB-C cable.Additionally, there are several built-in special effects modes you can use, such as Explosion, Fire, Paparazzi, Bad Bulb, TV, Lightning, Strobe, Welding, CCT Pulse, CCT Loop, Hue Loop, Hue Pulse, Disco, Fireworks, and Police.However, the app was disappointing. I couldn't find the M60 listed, as it only showed the FIVERAY M20C. So, I wasn't very impressed with that aspect. Overall, though, it is a nice light.

The ZHIYUN FIVERAY M60 Ultra RGB Video Light is bright, compact, and very easy to carry around. It provides plenty of light for photography and video projects while remaining lightweight enough to take anywhere.The build quality feels solid, and the light performs well both indoors and outdoors. The adjustable color temperature and RGB features make it versatile for different shooting situations.My only downside is that it does not come with a carrying case. A protective case would have been a nice addition, especially for a portable light like this. Other than that, I am very happy with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a compact and decent video light.

This is really good value for money. The little magnetic grid being included, the rgb color, everything is want from a device like this. Don’t use the included diffuser just get a small photography umbrella for diffusion. Given the magnetic accessories that come with it I would like to see barn doors available. But it’s great as is
