What's in the Box

What's the positioning of the G60?

With its core thermal technology, ZHIYUN delivers high power in a lightweight package — making professional film lights accessible to everyone.

The G60 packs 60W of professional output into a cube roughly the size of a Rubik's cube.

Your creativity is no longer limited by space, location, or time — professional lighting has never been simpler.

Can the G60 run for extended periods?

Yes. The G60 features ZHIYUN's patented electronic back-pressure cooling system, which uses gyroscope-based precision modeling to design the heatsink and fan.

Applying fluid dynamics, it intelligently manages airflow, compresses internal structure while maintaining exceptional cooling performance — keeping your shoots safe and stable, even during long sessions.

Is the G60 suitable for outdoor shoots?

Absolutely. The G60 uses ZHIYUN's power delivery technology for quick indoor studio setups, and packs down just as easily for transport.

The entire lighting kit fits neatly into a bag, and delivers 100% power output even outdoors — so you're always ready to shoot, wherever you are.

What are the power options for the G60?

The G60 features ZHIYUN's adaptive integrated power system with two portable external power solutions — DC adapter and 100W PD-compatible Type-C fast charging.

How's the color performance on the G60?

The G60 delivers high quality, high color accuracy, and high image fidelity:

CRI ≥96, TLCI ≥97

Bare source illuminance: 2,376 Lux

With ZHIYUN mini reflector: 11,194 Lux

Color temperature range: 2700K–6500K

A high-power integrated point source with dial-based control for quick color temp and brightness adjustments.

The high CRI captures fine color details and reproduces true-to-life color — what you see is what you get.

What mount does the G60 use?

The G60 features a custom ZY mount for full-scene light-shaping accessories, and is compatible with industry-standard Bowens mount accessories via an adapter ring.

Whether it's portraits, commercial photography, product shoots, TVC, interviews, or short-form video — the G60 fits right into your lighting workflow.

Does the G60 support Bluetooth connectivity?

Yes. The G60 supports multi-light Bluetooth mesh networking for complex scene lighting.

The app allows remote real-time parameter adjustments, greatly improving efficiency for solo creators and on-the-go setups.

Gets a little warm, but kicks out a large amount of light for something so tiny. Pricey, but good.

I didnt think Id be starting a review of a camera/video light with aww, isnt it cute?, but here we are. Ive had the Zhiyun Molus G60 for three weeks now and I still havent changed my opinion of the first thing I said when I took it out of the box. Its so incredibly small that it surprises you, long before you turn it on and marvel at how much light it kicks out.Inside the box, alongside a small instructions pamphlet and a soft carry pouch, you get the light cube, a reflector with detachable diffuser, and a power adapter. The power adapter has a decent length of cable between the plug end and the transformer, and a slightly shorter length between the transformer and where it plugs into the back of the light cube. I mention that because if you want to mount it up on high you may find that the heavy transformer is left dangling in the air, which isnt ideal so make sure your tripod is secure. The socket of the mains adapter is on the rear of the light cube, hidden behind an arm that swings down to allow you to mount it onto your tripod. I mention this because that little design does mean that if you have the light plugged in you cant lay the cube flat on a surface such as a table or shelf as the arm cant sit flush while its plugged in. It seems a little odd that. The reflector attaches simply by locating it on the black ring on the front of the light box and twisting slightly. It clicks into place, and can be removed by pressing a lever down. The diffuser slips on an off and can be pushed out into a dome shape if desired. The light box turns on by pressing and holding the orange button on the top. On the rear is a small display which lights up and after a moment will show you the power output as a percentage, and the output colour. The range is from 2700 to 6200k, so covers a decent range from warm to cool, although not as wide as some of the other lights I have. The output and the colour are controlled by the two dials on the rear. Each can be rotated so incrementally increase each function so you can be very exact, or you can press the dial in and itll jump to one of three pre-set levels. That works really well, and I have to say the light it emits is really good. I dont have professional testing equipment to determine how accurate the light is to the claimed value, but I was happy with what I was seeing. In operation the light can get quite warm, but it does have an in-built cooling fan which will occasionally kick in. This is quite unobtrusive so you should pick up an interference on microphones if youre recording videos. While the light comes with the mains transformer, it is possible to power it from a portable USB power bankwith a caveat. The amount of light that you can get out of the light cube will be determined by the output of the power bank. The light cube will only go so high before it reaches the limit of what the power bank can deliver. On a relatively new power bank I got the light cube up to 24%, however a slightly older and less powerful one saw the light cube turn itself off immediately. Almost like it tripped out. So, this is worth bearing in mind if you want a truly portable lighting option. After my time with the light so far I have been really impressed with it. Its slightly frustrating that I cant sit the light flat on a surface when its plugged in, as I quite often want to light something quickly on the fly and dont always want to set up a tripod or stand. I should also say that at 219 at the time of testing it is quite an investment in something so small. It may find it has a bit of a niche market, and I dont believe I could justify that for what I use lighting rigs for. But, thats not to detract from what is essentially a very good little light. Its powerful, light and compact so highly portablealthough that said I would have preferred a more robust storage and transportation solution than a soft bag which will fit the light and the reflector, but not the bulky power transformer. I just leave it in the box it came in.Overall, Im really impressed with the light itself. It just has a couple of rough edges around the packaging of it considering the price that brings me just short of awarding it a full five stars.

Very impressive, small and lightweight

This light is brilliant, its the perfect size to carry with me and fits nicely in my camera bag.It looks nice and even though the casing is plastic it feels very strong.Being able to power it from a power bank makes it so transportable and means it can be used anywhere. The mounting bracket can easily be attached to my existing tripodThere us a mobile app you can download but Ive not done that yet.The light output is very impressive and is easily and accurately controlled as is the colour temperature. Its not the quietest, there is a hum to it but I find it acceptable.Im very impressed with this light and cant wait to set it up properly and use it

A powerful light for video and photo work

Lighting technology is moving at pace in the continuous lighting world, meaning there are lots of new products to consider for things such as lighting your video productions or for when taking photographs. This light from Zhiyun uses a COB (Chip On Board) LED light panel which are supposed to be more efficient than the more standard LED lights and so tend to be brighter and this light is no exception; at very close range it was practically blinding when barely into the double figure percentages of power (or DIM as the control is labelled). The light itself is light and compact, at about 6.7cm in width and height and 9cm from the accessory mount on the front to the control dials on the rear. On the front you find the panel and the ZY accessory mount, on which you can add the included mini reflector. On the right side is a black plastic block with the 60W legend and some other information about the light while on the rear you find the DIM (brightness) and CCT (colour temperature) controls plus a display for the settings. Both top and bottom sides have grills under which you can see what look like heat sink fins, while on the left side is another grill behind which can be seen a cooling fan. When fixed at 90 degrees to the body the support leg adds another 3cm to the height of the light but it can be positioned in a number of angles as required. In the centre of the foot is a 1/4 thread for mounting the light on a stand or tripod.Power is supplied either through a USB-C port on the left side or via the supplied DC power supply in a port on the back hidden by the support leg when not in use and the light is powered on by a small button on the rear of the top surface.Aside from the power supply and its carrying pouch, the standard set I am reviewing comes with a reflector and dome diffuser that can be put on the end of it for modifying the light output. As a test I swapped the G60 for my usual key light when recording an episode of my wifes YouTube channel. I was able to easily match the colour temperature with my fill light and the G60 was more than bright enough to provide the same light output as the light it was replacing.Despite having a cooling fan, the unit is silent to the ear during use. However, when undertaking some non-critical video editing at 2x speed I found that both the mic connected to my camera and the standalone audio recorder I use for backup audio had picked up the fan. While this was annoying during editing, when the video was rendered out for YouTube the audio compression during the rendering appears to have eliminated the sound and so it shouldnt be an issue for people watching the video. While the light feels pretty sturdy for something so small and lightweight, the controls for brightness and colour temperature on the back feel a bit loose and flimsy, especially the colour temperature control. The position of the USB-C port for power also feels a little odd. Personally Id have preferred to have it next to the DC-in, that way if I were wanting to replicate my setup somewhere I didnt have mains power, I wouldnt have to think about whether I needed to route cables for power differently than at home in order to plug in to a power bank. The lights small size and weight do make it a prime candidate to be taken on the move but then youre slightly hindered by needing to get power to it. Its surprising theres not a way to clip a battery pack to it to give you even more freedom to position it where needed. Finally, its out of the box usefulness is a little limited by the fact that the light is bi-colour only. If you need a different colour of light youd need to tape a coloured gel over the ZY mount (Ive taken a quick look online and cant see that theres a ZY mount gel holder for this purpose). That said this is a great light for the money. However, for just 50 more you can get the Combo set which, as well as the reflector and dome diffuser included in the Standard set reviewed, comes with a softbox, handheld tripod and storage case, as well as a Bowens mount adapter, which will allow you to pick from the multitude of Bowens mount light modifiers already out there.

Fantastic piece of kit

Really compact and very straightforward to set up, this light is a great addition to my photographic kit. The produces a strong, bright light that is dimmable and you can also control the colour temperature with a simple dial at the back. Im looking to incorporate this light in my fashion photography portraits and the size of it means it easily transportable. Super impressed and would recommend.

I love this little light

I am by no means a photographer but I do take a lot of pictures and Im obsessed with this light source. I have very little natural light in my home and this has been amazing. I bought a clamp so I can attach it to shelves and such to change my lighting angles. You can attach to tripod also. The warm to cool light variety is great and goes from 3400 to 6500. The brightness level range is great too, I love creating subtle light for my review pictures but adding more for personal pictures of the family and such.Would highly recommend this amd cant wait to keep practicing and experimenting with different light ??

Nothing not to like

I have tried to picture this next to a small cable to give you an idea of size . Its tiny, and highly portable . You can run it from a power bank with the correct wattage which means this is very versatile . The light is bright and easily adjustable and to my mind oozes quality. The diffuser clicks on reassuringly etc . I have used Zhiyun products in the past and found them to be reliable and have no reason to assume anything different from this . Really like it

Reviewed for you ????

The Zhiyun MOLUS G60 is a powerful and versatile LED video light that is perfect for studio and on-location photography. It features a 60W COB continuous output lighting with 2700K-6500K dimmable settings, allowing you to adjust the color temperature to suit your needs. The light also has a CRI of 96+ and a TLCI of 197+, ensuring accurate and consistent color reproduction. The only issue I found is that it doesnt work with a simple power bank, need to use a powerful one ?????? at least 20w

What's not to like about this little cute light. Perfect for gorilla film making, weddings and documentaries abroad. This is a mini light that will fit in your luggage. Think of the possibilities. But to come back down to earth, I don't believe professionals will trade in their large studio lights, but the size will apical to a wide audience.5*****I will be using this all the time, especially for my YouTube Channel

Very compact, bright video light.

??The ZHIYUN MOLUS G60 [Official] 60W LED Video Light comes securely packed in branded packaging.Inside you will find the LED video light unit, a power supply, a reflector with a rubber diffuser, and a short instruction manual. There is also a small mesh bag for the power supply with cables. The light can be powered using the main connected power supply provided, a power bank, or a regular charging plug with a USB-C cable. When using any other power source, than an original power supply, the power output will be limited, depending on how much power the source can deliver. The maximum I was able to get out of the power bank, was a 24% brightness level( using a 10.000mAh Samsung power bank ).Using the super fast charging plug, the Molus G60 went up to 48%.Another option might be using a dedicated video battery with a higher output level( but I haven't had any around to test it ).??I love the small, compact design of this light( it is very bright despite its size ).The small tripod mount is very sturdy and holds the light very well in place. The color temperature adjustment wheel works very well, and it is easy to set the desired values. The same I can say about the brightness wheel, it is very easy to adjust. It can be easily mounted on virtually any tripod or video light mount.??One downside to me is the lack of light modifiers you can use with this light. You have 2 options:1. use dedicated( small and expensive ) Zhiyun softbox2. buy an adapter to be able to use Bowens system modifiers.Another thing is - it is hard to find a suitable carrying case for this light. There is one being sold as part of the combo set, but if you don't buy a combo, you will have to search for a 3rd party case.??Considering how well this light is made, how compact it is, and how bright, I would definitely recommend it to anyone in need of a quality video light, that can be quite literally carried in your hand.

Not that bright at useful distances for photography.

I only know of Zhiyun by reputation as one of the better camera stabiliser manufacturers for video equipment. It seems that now they are venturing into the territory of lighting so I was interested to see what theyd come up with. This 60W light is a tiny: 3 x 2.5 x 2.5 with an additional 2.5 when you attach the reflector. The reflector comes with a rubber diffuser attached, but it needs reversing for use.60w (even if that is LED watts) and studio lighting dont quite go together for me. Mind you Im used to studio flash that pumps out more power than I need. Anyway I popped this onto a lighting stand and came across my first dislike of this unit. It doesnt have e a quick release lighting stand clamp. You have to rotate it (or the stand) to screw it onto the threaded part at the top of the stand and it doesnt lock tight so the slightest knock moves it. Not what you want if you are using it for table-top photography. The knurled knob that allows you to change the vertical angle is far too small and difficult to use, but it does lock securely. There are three controls. The on/off is a tiny orange button on the top of the unit. Press and hold to turn on or off. Two rotating knobs are on the back along with a small LCD screen. The screen shows power output in % - left hand knob to change - and colour temperature in deg K - right hand knob to change. Again the knobs are tiny. The brightness control is difficult to get a grip on and consequently requires 25 twists (not complete rotations) to go from 0% to 100%. My twist was just as far as I could comfortably rotate my wrist before having to let go and re-position my fingers.Ive attached five images. All taken with a Canon EOS R6 and Canon 100mm f2.8 macro lens. The images were originally RAW files. The room had the curtains drawn but it was bright sunshine outside so the room was nowhere near dark. One image shows the test setup. One was shot with the colour balance at max 6500K, another at min 2700K. The other pair show the subject shot using the diffuser attached and without the diffuser. Youll notice theres a three stop light loss with the diffuser. The light was positioned 20 away from the subject. The camera was set to Auto white balance so it may well have tried to adjust the warmth of the image, but setting a custom white balance would still have interfered with the result. To get an idea of the useful strength of this light I moved it to a distance of 63 (a distance which gives you a reasonable space to work in) and took a light reading with the light on and with the light off. Light on: 1/60sec f2.8 ISO 400. Light off i.e. room light: 1/60 sec f2.0 ISO 400. So at a distance of around 5ft you get a lift of just one-stop with this light. Thats the same as dropping the shutter speed to 1/30sec or bumping the ISO up to 800. If you have a tripod you dont need the light. Though what it will do close-up is give you control over shadows and contrast which would be more difficult with just ambient lighting. For close up table top stuff it could be very useful, but I see it as of more use to a YouTuber to light their face with this light on a table top tripod right next to them. Also the advantages of its tiny-ness are lost once you put it on a studio lighting stand. Its ok. The controls are not well implemented, but they work, and the attachment to a support needs a re-think. It seems really well-built. I dont think theres anything wrong with the quality, but Im not sure of its value to a photographer.

Good Things Come In Small Packages

This Molus G60 LED Video Light arrives well packed, in a nice looking, Zhiyun branded cardboard box, that would be more than suitable should you be wishing to give it as a gift. Inside the box is the G60 light, Mini Reflector & Small Diffusion Dome, power adapter and cable, and a Quick Start guide. The light feels reasonably well made and its hard not to be impressed by its main selling point: the fact that is extremely compact compared to traditional lighting setups.Controls are simple with just an on/off button on the top of the light, and two control dials on the rear (one for brightness and the other for colour temperature). The controls are on the small side but perfectly usable. The small display screen is nice and clear, and provides the information you need in a simple to read manner. The light can also be controlled via the ZY Vega App thats available for both Android and Apple iOS. The App is basic, but does everything you need, including th ability to group multiple lights so that you can control them all at the same time. The bracket has a ?-20 socket for attaching the light to a tripod, stand, etc.The light has its own proprietary ZY Mount, which you use to attach the included reflector (and the optional included diffuser). This mount has the advantage of being much smaller than the traditional Bowens mount, which means you can get a number of compatible modifiers that are small and therefore much more portable than traditional modifiers. Small enough that you can easily fit this light and a mini-soft box in your camera bag. The down side of this proprietary mount is that currently the modifiers available for it are more expensive.Alternatively, Zhyun make a Bowens adapter for the light (search Amazon for B0BZ43K6FF ). This has a built-in receiver for attaching it to a standard light stand stud mount. You attach the G60 to the rear of this adapter, and attach your Bowens modifier to the front. The light can be powered via the mains using the included DC adapter. Alternatively it can be powered via a USB Type-C socket in the side of the light (this socket can also be used to update the firmware). When powered by USB C, the light requires a 100W charge to work at full power. However, if you supply less power it adapts the light accordingly, reducing its output. In use the light works really well, with the light and temperature settings proving to be pretty accurate. Whilst conceptually you can understand how small this light is, it is not until you get it in your hand that you realise just how much more versatile this makes the light, and the possibilities this opens up. Not only is it much more portable for taking with you or using on the go, but its size allows you to put the light in places and at angles you would never have even considered before. There are a few negatives. It can get a little toasty to touch in places when in use. Given its size this is hardly surprising though, and not an issue if you treat it with care and avoid those spots. It also cools very quickly when not in use. The other negative is the afore mentioned native ZY modifiers being a bit more expensive, but hopefully their price will come down with time. And finally, given the price, it would have been nice if this kit came with a case to keep everything in.In conclusion, this a lovely, compact 60W LED COB light, that works extremely well in practice. Its compact size is more than just a gimmick, as it makes the light much more versatile, and opens up so many more possibilities when it comes to placing and using the light. It also makes it so much easier to carry with you, with it even being possible to slip this light and ZY Mount Softbox in your bag when travelling. Something that was previously impossible to do with a studio lightDue to the negatives listed above, Id give this kit a 4.5 star rating if I could. However, as I cant, it seems churlish to knock a full star off, so 5 stars it is.~ Ethics Statement: Amazon provided me with this product and asked that I give my honest and impartial opinion about it. Thats what Ive set out to do in this review, so I hope you found it helpful. ~

Powerful light

This light is powerful for all the photography needs, connects to the stand with no issues, can alter its light depth and alter its brightness to make it dull or brighter for any occasion. Small and compact is what should sell this the most, can pack away into a bag not bulky at all, it's lightweight and very easy to use.
